Chase Gone Wild: Glendale SUV Heist Reaches 90+ mph on the Run

A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy, Tyray Giles, was arrested after leading Glendale police on a high-speed chase in a suspected stolen SUV. The chase, which lasted for over seven miles, occurred on January 1, 2025. Giles faces multiple criminal charges, including second-degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, and obstructing an officer.

According to the criminal complaint, Glendale police initiated the pursuit after attempting to stop an SUV that was reported stolen. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens, signaling for the driver to pull over. However, the driver, later identified as Giles, refused to stop and accelerated away, triggering a police chase.

The chase lasted several minutes, with Giles reportedly driving at dangerous speeds of 80 to 90 mph through Milwaukee County streets. The complaint highlights the reckless nature of the driving, with the teen driving through controlled intersections without stopping, going against traffic, and even driving onto sidewalks in an attempt to evade officers.

Despite the risky driving maneuvers, the chase eventually came to an end when Giles’ vehicle stopped. The defendant then fled on foot, but officers managed to apprehend him following a brief foot pursuit. During the arrest, police discovered that Giles had provided a phone number, which was later confirmed to be linked to a phone found in the stolen SUV.

The police chase covered a distance of approximately 7.25 miles. Giles has now been charged with multiple offenses related to the pursuit, including endangerment, fleeing, and obstructing officers. Authorities continue to investigate the incident as part of their ongoing efforts to address reckless driving and criminal activity in the area.
