Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in Brooklyn. The victim, Jordan Dillard, 23, from Centre Mall in Red Hook, was shot and killed near a brownstone on President Street in Carroll Gardens. The incident took place around 2:48 a.m. on January 11.
Officers from the 76th Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire on the block. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Dillard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Emergency medical services quickly transported him to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Despite their efforts, Dillard was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The shooting marks the first homicide in the 76th Precinct this year, as the area reported no murders in 2024, according to the NYPD’s CompStat data. Investigators are actively working on the case, but no arrests have been made so far.
