Additionally, Biden falsely stated that no one in U.S. history had been charged for filling out an ATF background check form while under the influence of drugs, despite this being a well-known legal issue.
Biden also misrepresented the outcome of Hunter’s gun case, falsely claiming that the weapon was “returned” to him. Evidence from the trial showed that the gun was actually recovered after it had been discarded by Hunter’s sister-in-law.
On the topic of inflation, Biden falsely stated that the inflation rate was 9% when he took office in January 2021. In reality, the year-over-year inflation rate was about 1.4% at that time. His assertion that the current inflation rate is 2.34% is also inaccurate, as the latest figures show a rate closer to 2.7%.
