“I essentially do everything I used to do, just slower,” Fonda explained, reflecting on her past as a runner. These days, she enjoys walking outdoors, particularly through wooded areas and hilly terrain. Fonda emphasizes the importance of variety in her routine, ensuring she doesn’t become accustomed to the same exercises. “I work out every day, so it’s important to mix up the way I move,” she said. Her regimen includes alternating between upper and lower body strength training, along with cardio, often through walking.

Fonda’s dedication to fitness has been evident since the early 1980s when she released her groundbreaking workout video, Jane Fonda’s Workout, inspired by her best-selling book, Jane Fonda’s Workout Book. Reflecting on the global impact of her videos, Fonda recalled the unexpected success. “I had no idea my videos were going to become such a phenomenon,” she admitted. Her workout videos, which became a staple for women seeking rigorous exercise, helped popularize fitness for women at a time when such options were limited.

Fonda shared heartwarming stories from fans who found empowerment through her workout videos, including one from a woman in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and another who discovered newfound strength after doing the exercises.

Now, Fonda is collaborating with Supernatural, a virtual reality (VR) fitness platform available on Meta Quest. Her new four-part series includes classes like Flow with Jane Fonda, Box with Jane Fonda & Ludacris, and Stretching with Jane Fonda. Fonda noted the ease with which she adapted to VR fitness, bridging the past and future of wellness.
