An 11-year-old child was grazed by a bullet on New Year’s Day during an incident at a gas station in northwest Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
The incident happened around 8:22 p.m. at the Exxon gas station located at the corner of Chappell Road and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway NW. Police shared that the child was struck by a bullet but thankfully only grazed. Afterward, the child was driven to a nearby hospital by someone at the scene, even before emergency crews could arrive.
Right now, investigators are still piecing together what led to the shooting. They’re working hard to figure out how this frightening situation unfolded.
The name of the child hasn’t been released, and police continue to look for answers. This unsettling event has left many in the area shaken as they hope for more information about what happened.
