Authorities in Pullman, Washington, have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred near Washington State University’s Greek Row last December.
Jorge Rigo Amezcua was taken into custody on Thursday and faces charges of second-degree murder and possession of a controlled substance. The Pullman Police Department confirmed the arrest in a news release on Friday.
The incident took place in the early hours of December 2024. At approximately 3 a.m., 28-year-old Darcy Spracklin was found unresponsive in the 800 block of Northeast California Street, near the Sigma Chi fraternity house. Investigators determined that he had been shot. Emergency responders transported him to Pullman Regional Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The police have not yet disclosed what led to the fatal shooting or the relationship between Amezcua and Spracklin. The circumstances surrounding the crime remain under investigation. Law enforcement officials have also not indicated whether any additional suspects are being considered.
