Asian Cinema Film Club Podcast Ep. 001: ‘Ghost In The Shell’ (1995)

First episode of an exciting new series about select Asian films.

Ghost in the Shell is a 1995 anime film about a cyborg policewoman and her partner hunt a mysterious and powerful hacker called the Puppet Master.

On this episode we kick off our brand new sub-show The Asian Cinema Film Club in which Elwood Jones and co-host Stephen Palmer (Eastern Kicks / Gweilo Ramblings) set out to provide an introduction to Asian cinema with each episode highlighting a title worth seeking out. With the live action remake already released, what better time to go back and revisit the 1995 original anime, widely considered to be one of the best anime films of all time (after Akira).
