Islamic Exorcist is an up-coming 2017 horror film about an adopted daughter who becomes possessed.
Cinema Epoch has acquired the distribution rights of Indian international Horror film Islamic Exorcist and will release this year on Direct to Video and VOD. The film is written and directed by controversial Indian film maker Faisal Saif and will be in English.
The poster and the trailer of the movie look extraordinary, though the film is definitely arriving at an unprecedented level of xenophobia and it is likely to expose some real issues in Islam. The makers received death threats during filming. Faisal Saif quotes:
I got lots of life threats from the Muslim and Shia Muslim community to not to make this film. It is my honor to be associated with a studio like Cinema Epoch which gave me a huge freedom on my creativity and my film.
As per the official synopsis, the movie talks about the lives of an Indian couple getting devastated when their adopted daughter becomes possessed by a demonic force. The father shoots the daughter to death, however an investigative journalist doesn’t believe in their story and becomes determine to know the real truth by going much deeper in the couple’s scary past. The makers claim the film to be inspired by a true story that happened somewhere in India.
Islamic Exorcist stars Kavita Radheshyam, who is tagged as India’s Kim Kardashian along with Bangladesh actor Nirab Hossain and Pakistan actor Meera. Three different actors from three different countries in an Islamic horror film. Certainly something to look forward to.
Islamic Exorcist releases in the United States on May 12.
