The Culling aims to up the risks and odds.  It is important to be aware of the environment.  There are various mechanics that can work in and against the player’s favor. Gas tanks are readily available in certain areas that can be detonated but the harm will also be yours if not escaped in a timely fashion. There is a currency called FUNC which can be collected with combats and finding certain items in the arena. FUNC opens up the option to call in air drops and craft other weapons.

Players are given perks before they start the round. The combats and weapons are focused on melee combats with a variety of 24 melee weapons and other long ranged weapons. However, strategizing distance from others and staying alert is key. There is no death respawn available.

However, The Culling also restricts players from staying in one spot for too long. As the clock ticks closer to the end of the round, the arenas start shutting down when it gets infested with poisonous gas, forcing the plays into the center arena for the final showdown.
